With Spore now on store shelves, the next thing to watch out for in the Sim community is The Sims 3. It was announed on August 20th that TS3 is slated for a February 20, 2009 release. Unlike the previous Sims games, The Sims 3 will feature a seamless neighborhood based play, where everyone and everything is controlled and interacts with each other in full neighborhood view, so that now a Sim can walk out of his house and across the street to his neighbor's, then ride into town for coffee all on the same screen. Not only that, but all of the other Sims in town will also be actively engaging in their lives, meaning the entire community interacts with itself in real time. Pretty amazing stuff. There are tons of other new things as well, but you can head over to the official TS3 site to get the full scoop: www.thesims3.com

This is the new forum for talk about The Sims 3. Feel free to post anything regarding this game in this new forum. smile.gif

You just copied that off from the website didn't you? tongue.gif

That's pretty cool they're finally coming out with a game like this. One of the things that seemed to always hinder the experience of The Sims was how limited the gameplay was. It sounds like in this game it will be a completely open environment. I still may not like the game, but that is definitely a major improvement. smile.gif

Ah, so you do check the website. wink.gif Yes I did copy it, it's faster and easier than trying to write up something new, I already did it once.

TS3 does sound like a major improvement over the previous games, though like you said, I'm not sure if the change will be enough to sway my opinion on it. The Sims is only fun for a couple of days to me before I tend to get bored, but maybe this game will be different. We'll just have to wait and see.

I check the site every once in a while. I think I said once before that that was how I found the forum was through the website. This is kinda off topic a little bit, but you really should update it more often. wink.gif

Yes, I know I need to update it more often, it's just that I have other things to do. I try to keep up with things as best I can.

I'm currently in the middle of making some needed updates to the site, which is taking some time. The other things will have to wait for a little while.

Maybe in Sim3 you'll be able to buy a gun, knock doors down and shoot people. Would that woo you fellas over? simcity/Evil.JPG biggrin.gif

I don't know about that, but it would certainly make the game more interesting, that's for sure wink.gif Something tells me that won't happen though, too much violence.
