So Roads, I know it has been some time since anything has been said. I am just curious as to whether any further progress has come about or not in the last couple weeks?

Well Infernus it seems during the process so far I've received two very good pieces of advice and both said essentially the same thing. One was on the Ubuntu forum. He told me why I was having so much trouble finding people who were willing to work on the game. He said the people who could do the work wanted to do their game. The other was from my son. He said he had found if you really wanted something done, do it yourself.

This last piece of advice came just about the time the last person except me who was interested in working on it decided it was just too much work.

That might have been more than you asked for but as usual I'm feeling verbose.

So to answer your question, the only progress toward the game so far is how much I've learned about game programming. It is not a lot but way more than I knew a month ago. Just wanted to say I'm working on it everyday.
