I want to see a lot of things, such as better transportation options. I especially want buildings to line up with diagonal roads. I would also like to see weather, but not like in the first Sim City. Those were like seasons, but weather would be pretty cool. It could also bring up problems like flooding and power outages, fires and fog. It would definetely add to the experience.

Weather: deffinately. Maybe an option to turn it on and off.
-Snow, Rain, Floods, Hail, Tornadoes (have them drop out of supercells, not just a funnel out of nowhere)
Get rid of the grid. Id like to see evereything built anywhere-doesn't have to match up on a grid.
Roads be able to go anywhere, not just up,down, left, right, and diagnol-be able to click&drag road direction-not led by grid.
Option to automatically get rid of abandonded buildings.
That about sums it up for me.

Like Mayor said, they should get rid of the grid.

One other thing I would like to see though is car crashes, mud slides, and things like that. As far as I can tell, the only thing that happens now are fires, and I haven't seen car crashes.

I'd like to see it snow, and then there be a blizzard, and avalanche. I'd like to see Sims be able to ski and snowboard at a snow park. biggrin.gif

I don't think they should get rid of the grid, but they should have an option for whether you want it or not.

That would be good, cause you could choose what kinds of buildings go where. There'll probably be so many buildings it'll be hard to remember em all.

Good idea. The building cheats should be able to be adjusted according to your building style preference.

I don't care much about things specifically, but as long as it's better looking and better playing I'm very happy biggrin.gif

Has there been any news of it lately?

Mostly what you have all said, i would like to see more disasters though, like floods, and hurricanes. I also DO NOT want to see it go fully 3D. I think this destroyed Roller Coaster Tycoon. I would also like to see futuristic building sets, and buildings that go taller. I think it would be cool to see more options for highway intersections. There should be "depressed" highways so that they are below ground level but still open to above so that roads can pass directly over them. More options for different types of stadiums, the size and shape could depend on the "culture" of your city so that older cities would have a brick look to the stadiums that may hold only 10 or so thousand people. or larger cities having more skyscrapers having round steel and glass stadiums. It would also be cool to see a gridlike view of your city to where you can actully see into the streets. You could also have the ability to start a city in the ancient times and watch as the city began to change from stone to bricks to wood, and metals, so that you could ahve an "ancient part" of the city like modern day Rome, where if you put plenty of money into preserving these even two-thousand years later they will still look beautiful, but if you lower funding to that then they will look like crumbling ruins.

I would like to see highways underground; like Boston's Big Dig. And also taller sky-scrapers; including diagonal.

Here's a list of things I would love to see in SimCity5 (some of these have already been suggested):

1. More infrastructure options, like telecom, storm drains, gas, etc.
2. The ability to purchase/annex land to increase the city size. The surrounding land in the region could be classified as wilderness.
3. More governmental control and realism, such as starting as an unincorporated village and gaining status as the population grows (town, city, metropolis). This could also include things like the ability to issue municipal bonds.
4. More budgeting options.
5. Self-seeding trees/forests. I hate having to spend money planting trees all over.
6. Much larger regions, possibly with the ability to create free trade zones, nations, mutual protection zones, or other agreements between several cities.
7. More transportation options, like dirt roads, gravel roads, hiking trails, bike lanes, etc..
8. Water-side parks, dams, larger parks, fisheries, hunting ranges, ski resorts, marinas, huge amusement parks, memorials, arches, towers, campsites; all with flexible boundaries that can change with the surrounding development. Tickets and permits for some of these could help supplement tax income as well.
9. More building styles. I liked the style choices in SimCity 3000 (or was that 2000?).
10. This next one could add engaging realism or just be an annoyance, what do you think?: The requirement to notify and wait for abandonment before bulldozing a structure.
11. The ability to place subway and bus stops on the sidewalk, not on zoned property. The fact that one needs a grid square, which destroys whatever was there already, has always bugged me!
12. Weather and seasonal changes.
13. Parades, festivals, and other things that would entertain and increase the morale of the sims.

Does anyone know whether our suggestions on this site or on others will actually get to the game developers?

Happy playing everyone!
